These skills are needed for lifelong living and learning– they are the backbone of well-being and mental health as well as fosters contribution to society as a citizen at all ages!

Learn about the research behind SEL and innovative SEL strategies that support every student’s strengths and aspirations; deepen partnerships among families, schools, and communities; and help close long-standing gaps in educational opportunities and outcomes.
Gina will review the research being conducted in the province of Alberta on Social Emotional Learning initiatives being carried out in school authorities as mental health preventative initiatives.
Julie will present on the importance of cultural identity as an important SEL skill for Indigenous children and youth, with a focus on key components of cultural identity from an Anishinaabe perspective and practical strategies to support identity development.
Karl will speak to the transformative power of Social and Emotional Learning in the everyday classroom by showing specific strategies.
The Team will address how A PURPOSEFUL and intentional & MULTI-DISCIPLINE strategy to communicate, implement and anchor learnings through whole system K-12 SEL approach has been critical to improving student outcomes.

Join them as they explore effective strategies for implementing the MindUP program system-wide and share key insights for successful integration within your educational setting.
